Guillaume Chiron -Collagist

Guillaume Chiron is a french collagist. He works with books and periodicals published between the 1930s and 1980s.

I like that his work often takes on a humourous tone and tells a story about life in some way.

I also love his use of flat often vibrant colors as backgrounds to the old more worn images that he uses.
Anka Zhuravleva - Photography

Anka Zhuravleva actually went to Moscow Architectural University and self-trained as a photographer.
She is currently based in Porto, Portugal but previously worked in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
She has shown her work at many exhibitions since 2004.

What I love about her work is that even though she focuses on portraits they are often fantastical in nature.
A lot of her work is in black & white or contains more muted color pallets.
My personal favorites though are the ones that have incredibly vibrant pops of color.

Especially this bright blood red that appears quite a bit in her work.
Mariah Llanes - Illustrator

Mariah Llanes is a Filipino-Canadian freelance illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. Her illustrations are usually commissioned to accompany journals & articles like in the Hollywood reporter and Money Sense.

What I like about her illustrations is that they tell a narrative & have clever visual twists.

They fulfill the purpose of being the visual representation of a specific article while also being creative aesthetically pleasing works telling a story on their own.
